At Outdoor Research®, we built a company from a feeling: the urge to get out. It’s what drives us. We love coming to work every day and inventing ever better solutions to what nature throws our way. The Tasc founders were tired of plastic being a necessary material in active clothing, so they did something about it. They made bamboo material that has a 4-way stretch, is wicking, breathable, UPF 50+ and super soft. Their clothing has no chemical finishes giving it a natural feel. Tasc creates high quality performance wear to keep you comfortable throughout all activities.

The Sherpa people hail from the high valleys of the Himalayas, but the traits Sherpas are found far beyond the borders of Nepal. As Sherpas:

A PASSION FOR ADVENTURE

It all began on a surf trip to San Pancho, Mexico for two friends, Jennifer Hinton and Thayer Sylvester.

As we lounged in a hammock waiting for the waves to roll back in, we lamented how hard it was to find boardshorts that could keep up with us – real women with real bodies and a real passion for adventure. And just like that, Carve Designs was born. Carve Designs styles represent our spirit: fun-loving, hardworking, confident, and inclined to get where we want to go.

Howler founders Chase Heard and Andy Stepanian spent their adolescent summers haunting the waters and fish of Florida and Virginia and riding the ripples those states call waves. Both Heard and Stepanian now live in Texas where they raise families, work hard, make music together, chase fish with fly rods and make runs to the nearest coast or river when the opportunity arises.

Their vision for Howler – and the name Howler Brothers – was inspired by a sound they each heard on surf trips to Costa Rica: the call of the loudest animal in North America, the Howler Monkey. If you’ve heard it, you know how loud and startling the sound can be. But, after hearing it a few times, the sound becomes a part of the collective feeling of being in Central America and serves as a constant reminder that you’re in a good place, doing something you love.

Our formula for living and working is simple — build fun into everything you do. So that’s where we start. KAVU creates true outdoor wear, stylish bags, wallets, and other accessories so you can express yourself and spread your good-time attitude.

KAVU is also an aviation acronym for “clear above visibility unlimited,” when there isn’t a cloud in the sky and you can see to the horizon. That limitless feeling is our guiding philosophy and the attitude we bring to all we do. It means treating every day like it’s special, and then getting out and doing whatever invigorates you and makes you smile. That’s a KAVU Day. And we want you to have as many as you can.
